Tabular statements for all Illinois infantry, cavalry, and artillery units show the number of men from each Illinois county serving in each company and the numbers of men lost by transfer and gained as of July 1, 1864. Record also contains a statement of the number of Illinois volunteers and their counties of residence serving in Missouri regiments; number of Illinois men serving in federal units; and a statement of the number of non-Illinois residents serving in each Illinois unit (e.g., Canada, England, East Indies, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland).
